Make grids into a pattern

This moves grids out of the /assets and makes them a pattern.

I think this improves the approchability of the framework and makes it more clear about how you shuld go about adding your own grid, or disabling a bundled grid.

This also adds a few improvements to the display of patterns -- part of an ongoing effort.
